Where are you? And who are you being?
Leadership is a journey, but maybe not the way you think. Sure there are mountains to climb and roads to take and lots of poetic metaphors to wade through. But in the end, it’s a journey into yourself. Questions about inventory and payroll and production deadlines? Those are management questions and they’re important. But leaders asks different questions, questions that go to the heart of who human beings are and why we’re alive. Leaders who master those questions are leaders who move human evolution forward, if even just one step. Those who try to lead without asking the right questions inevitably set us back.
